“Slide to Unlock”

Yet another Universe-themed painting in which I’m alone on Earth, and I cannot share my world with you because I am trapped behind the screen of your phone. I shoot the Moon at you with a slingshot, hoping to get your attention (hence the broken glass effect). This painting reflects pretty much exactly how I felt during the pandemic (small and isolated). When you “slide to unlock” your phone, what do you *really* unlock? Does it open the door to someone else’s world, or is it only the illusion of a real connection?
