“Salva Mea”

20”x24” encaustic/ mixed media, 2022 July. Darkness and shadows don’t exist without light… This piece is about expressing deep self-compassion and finding our own rescuer within ourselves at the edge of desperation and hopelessness; even if this possibility seems like an illusion at first. (The figurine is on the top of my imaginary version of the Half Dome in Yosemite Valley stepping off the cliff - right onto the metaphorical wings extended by its own shadow..)
